Custom Photo Booth Designs
This article is primarily aimed at our clients so they can get examples of what we’re referring to when we have a design consultation for their personalised photo booth experience. We found a lot of people weren’t sure what we meant by the design and the backdrop and other terms which might have been foreign to people that haven’t been through this process before. Many photo booth businesses don’t offer as much personalisation as we do so it’s important we educate our clients.
A Crash Course in Photo Booth in Personalisation

The Design
The colours and images that form the outside of the printout is what we call the design. We can match it to you event theme, florals you’re using or something more personal to you
Backdrop
The backdrop is what is shown behind this couple. Generally, a physical 8x8ft tension backdrop. It requires a stable wall or surface to be up against and sufficient clearance to the roof. As such, it’s not suitable for every event.
A Personal Touch
Something you love or something personal to you. If you look closely, we’ve added a touch of lord of the rings behind the names of the couple. We’ve previously snuck in some Dungeons & Dragons or Spiderman into a design, we’ve incorporated people’s dogs, we once centred a design around the couple’s favourite animals: a wolf and a fox.
The Words On The Design
“Jess & Brad 23.11.24”
You can have it say anything you want, ask as for suggestions if you get stuck!
Minimalist vs Maximalist

The design on the left is a more minimalist design. The design on the right is a more maximalist design.
We like fun, exciting and personalised designs that stand out and we can get carried away creating awesome designs.
It’s definitely not the norm so if you want something more classic and minimalist, let us know! You can always send us some inspo!
Does your design preference lean more to a minimalist design or a maximalist design?
Backdrop Options

These are our standard backdrop options. All except the Flower Wall are 8x8ft tension backdrops. Our backdrops all require a stable surface to lean against and a 2.5m clearance to the roof.

This is an example of what the backdrop looks like in person when photos are being taken. This is also the couple in the example strip at the top of the page for you to get a reference on what it will look like!
Alternate Options
- DIY Backdrop – If you’re handy you can create a space for yourself to use as a backdrop
- Outsource – For a more intricate backdrop with florals and balloon garlands (ask us for vendor reccs)
- Custom Order – With enough notice and for a fee we can order a new or custom backdrop
- Digital Backdrop – Anything you want! We recommend no props for this option and no more than 4 people at a time.
- No Backdrop – Either due to space limitations or aesthetic choice.
